W O N D E R L A N D

There was a sparkle of curiosity in his eyes as he looked up, into  miles & miles of unknown.
Begging to go out, into a new flurry of a world before him.

I can't help but believe that there's an angel out there somewhere, sketching snowflake designs everyday.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon, we walked.
We walked through the fog of one million microscopic icy butterfly wings. Ever so slightly brushing our pink cheeks. For moments at a time, two, three, four-landing on his long lashes, before disappearing forever; never to be duplicated.

Running from tree to tree, gasping at every icicle we saw.
There's something to be learned from little ones.
Our backyard, isn't just that at all.
More like, our own little euphoria.
His sweet eyes say it all, with every gaze-there is a clear yearn to wander.

Looking over his tiny shoulder, holding unwillingly to my fingers, it was as if there was a silent connection between just him and the world behind us.
Walking back to our familiar door,
tears shed the moment his feet met the steps.

There is far too much to explore in the renewed world before us.
Sparkling white crystals beneath us.
Bare branches ahead of us.
"I can see forever..."

This is only the beginning.
